At ardough, the heart of every individually handmade dough is Arno, our sourdough stater. Arno was named after the love and time shared after work in NYC with our beloved Uncle Joe. Grown with organic Italian flour and 150 g of Tuscan spring water in honor of the 150 mile long Arno River in Italy, our starter represents the roots of our family, of our loved ones who will always be with us, and of cherished breaking bread moments with family and friends. Each part of ardough has meaning behind it, from the number of grams used in each loaf, to the scoring on our bread. This is our story, and we are blessed for the opportunity to have our dough become part of yours.
